Chapitia is a big top the size of a planet. The show began there centuries ago and has never stopped. The audience died long ago. The performers didn't.
The lights come on. The music starts. The clowns enter the ring.

2. Planet Clownia
The clowns aren't laughing. Neither are you.
The clowns of Clownia don't laugh. They only smile on their masks. Their knives are real and their acts always end badly. You are the audience, and the audience takes part.
A clown bows before you. The knife slides out of his sleeve.

3. Planet Jonglia
The jugglers throw blades, not balls.
The jugglers of Jonglia throw blades, not balls. They never catch them: they always end up in someone. They are fast, and they don't miss.
Three blades spin in the air. None of them comes back down to the juggler.

4. Planet Hypnosia
The hypnotist makes you forget to fight.
The hypnotist of Hypnosia makes you forget to fight. One look, one word, and your heroes freeze mid-motion. You must strike before he speaks.

5. Planet Trapézia

On Trapézia, the grand finale is played without a net. The trapezes hang a hundred metres above the ground, and the performers are fearless. You don't have a trapeze.
The performers swing above you. Then they let go, blades first.

6. Planet Coulissia
Behind the curtain, the real monsters.
Behind the curtain of Coulissia hide the Carnival's real monsters. The ones they don't show the audience. They have been waiting their turn for centuries.
The curtain rises. What lies behind it is no act at all.

7. Planet Pitrezzo Boss
The Ringmaster announces your final act.
Pitrezzo is the centre ring, and the Ringmaster presents the show there. He has a top hat, a cape, a smile, and a sabre. He announces every act, and every act ends in a death. He strikes three times per round, like a drumroll. Clowns, jugglers, hypnotists: all of them obey him. Command wants the Carnival shut down and its prisoners freed. You will have to survive his acts, then make him take his final bow.
The spotlight comes on over the ring. "Ladies and gentlemen… your final act!"
